KBR resident sentenced to suspended sentence for criticizing the war in Ukraine

The Nalchik City Court found local resident Batyr Zhaboev guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (discrediting the Russian Army). He was sentenced to one year suspended imprisonment.

In April 2022, Zhaboev was brought to administrative responsibility under this article. He published a video on social networks about civilian casualties during the Russian-Chechen wars and the Northern Military District in Ukraine.
