Residents of Armenia once again took to the streets in support of their compatriots held captive by Azerbaijan
A rally in support of Ruben Vardanyan and other Karabakh leaders held in Baku was held in the Armenian region of Syunik. Demonstrators are calling on the Armenian government and diplomats accredited in the country to take real steps to release political prisoners.

Earlier, Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan said that the authorities are taking steps to release the former head of the dissolved government of Nagorno-Karabakh Vardanyan and other Armenian prisoners. According to him, this work "should be attempted in a slightly different direction."

"Previously, prisoners were also released during the negotiation processes, and, in our opinion, we should continue to use the tools that we are using now," Grigoryan noted.

A trial of representatives of the leadership of the dissolved government of Nagorno-Karabakh recently began in Baku. The lawyers filed a motion to change the preventive measure to house arrest. In the dock were the former state minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, former Russian citizen, billionaire Ruben Vardanyan and 15 other officials, including the former presidents of the unrecognized republic Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan and Arayik Harutyunyan.
