Elena Patyaeva—a friend of Seda Suleymanova, who disappeared three years ago after being forcibly returned from St. Petersburg to Chechnya—was detained in Grozny. On August 23, Patyaeva stood by the monument to journalists who died for freedom of speech, holding a sign that read: "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." This was reported by the human rights project "Slovo Zashchite" (Word for the Defense).
A resident of Vladikavkaz was accused of vandalism on the graves of SVO participants
A 56-year-old resident of Vladikavkaz, who scattered wreaths and vases with flowers on the graves of those who fought in Ukraine, was charged. She will be tried under the article “desecration of burial places.”
According to investigators, on the night of February 1-2, a woman entered the territory of the “Alley of Heroes” of the Eastern Cemetery of Vladikavkaz. There she scattered ritual wreaths and vases of flowers located at the graves of participants in the “special military operation.” The accused explained her action by being intoxicated and searching for alcohol in the cemetery. She also recorded a video apology.
