Journalists and human rights activists asked to transfer Nikita Zhuravel from the pre-trial detention center of Chechnya, where he was beaten by Kadyrov's son

A member of the HRC under the President, journalist Eva Merkacheva, turned to the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service with a request to transfer Nikita Zhuravel, who was beaten by Kadyrov's son, from the pre-trial detention center in Chechnya to another region.

“Public statements of public and political figures of Chechnya confirm the fact that Nikita Zhuravel was beaten during his detention. With this in mind, I ask for security reasons to urgently transfer him to the institution of the Federal Penitentiary Service of another region. I also ask you to check on the grounds on which, during the period of detention, persons who are not related to the investigation gained access to it, ”Merkacheva said in an appeal to the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Alexander Kalashnikov.

Political scientist and journalist Marina Litvinovich also urged citizens to write a letter to Kalashnikov through the reception of the Federal Penitentiary Service or through the State Services regarding the beating of Zhuravel in the Chechen pre-trial detention center.

Recall that State Duma deputy and chairman of the Chechen parliament Adam Delimkhanov, as well as political scientist Magomed Daudov, supported the extrajudicial execution of the young man, regarding it as a patriotic act of a real Chechen.

Earlier it became known that the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and his 15-year-old son Adam came to the Grozny pre-trial detention center. They talked with Nikita Zhuravel. The first of them left, the second remained in the cell and, according to the prisoner, beat him.

A student from Volgograd was detained in the spring after the publication of a video with the burning of the Koran. The Sledkom noted that the Volgograd student did this at the direction of the Ukrainian special services for 10 thousand rubles.

The criminal case on insulting the feelings of believers was transferred to Chechnya for investigation.
