On the morning of October 22, Ukrainian authorities reported that the country had been targeted overnight by 210 aerial weapons, including missiles (Iskander-M, S-400, Zircon, and Onyx) and attack drones (such as Shahed and Gerbera models). According to the Ukrainian Air Force, some of these were launched from the Millerovo testing ground in Rostov Oblast and from Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Kuban region.

On the morning of October 21, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 373 Ukrainian drones had been shot down. The Krasnodar Territory was among the regions targeted in the overnight attack.

On 19 October 2026, the State Council of Tatarstan approved the appointment of Colonel General Alexander Lapin as deputy prime minister of the republic. Tatarstan head Rustam Minnikhanov signed the appointment decree the same day. Lapin had previously been appointed acting deputy prime minister on 29 September 2026.

On the night of October 19, Rostov Oblast was once again among the Russian regions targeted by drones. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of 149 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian territory throughout the night.
