A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

The Southern Military Court extended the arrest for three months of Dagestan journalist Abdulmumin Hajiyev, accused of financing terrorism. He has been in detention for almost four years. Two other persons, Abubakar Rizvanov and Kemal Tambiyev, will also remain in the SIZO.
At the trial, the prosecutor said that the previous grounds for the defendants' detention had not changed. According to him, they may influence the investigation. The court ignored the arguments of the defence, noting that the investigation has already been completed.
Earlier experts confirmed the absence of propaganda of religious intolerance and calls to terrorism in Abdulmumin Hajiyev’s articles. The accusation against the journalist was based on two components: the transfer of 16 thousand rubles to ISIS (prohibited in the Russian Federation) and the propaganda of terrorism in twenty articles. Neither thesis was confirmed in court. Moreover, none of the prosecution witnesses was able to provide incriminating information about Hajiev.
