The Georgian Parliament has expeditiously passed a bill in its third and final reading requiring organizers of protests in "places where people gather or where vehicles are moving" (including on sidewalks) to notify the police. The responsible person must contact the Patrol Service Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (located at the location of the demonstration) in writing no later than five days before the rally.
A well-known Moscow lawyer, a native of Dagestan, Dagir Khasavov, was released from the colony on the basis of parole. In 2020, the Izmailovsky City Court of Moscow sentenced him to six years in prison.
According to investigators, Khasavov tried to obtain false testimony from a witness for the prosecution in the case of ex-Prime Minister of Dagestan Abdusamad Gamidov and his deputy Rayudin Yusufov and created a "criminal group" for this. As evidence, investigators provided three audio messages sent by a lawyer to the son of a witness. They, according to the security forces, contained threats.
Khasavov pleaded not guilty. He was the defender of the ex-premier of Dagestan Abdusamad Gamidov and his deputy Rayudin Yusufov, who were detained in 2018 during a large-scale inspection of officials in Dagestan. They were accused of embezzlement of budget funds in the amount of more than 40 million rubles.
