A request has been sent to the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatyana Moskalkova, with a request to take measures to establish the whereabouts of 19-year-old police officer from Chechnya, Yasin Khalidov. He was detained in Omsk on May 20 while trying to leave Russia, and nothing has been known about him since, according to Advocate Alexander Nemov.
Previously, the defense appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor's office of Chechnya, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB in the Omsk region, the Russian Guard. Nobody responded to inquiries.
Recall that in September 2022, Yasin Khalidov was sent to Ukraine to "SVO" as a member of the Chechen police, where he spent four months. He tried to resign from the service, but he was refused. Upon his return from Ukraine, Khalidov was detained. He was threatened that if he did not stop his attempts to quit, he would be prosecuted for terrorism.
At the end of January, Khalidov managed to escape from Chechnya. According to Novaya Gazeta, he turned to Chechen bloggers Yangulbaev for help, who promised to take him out of Russia in exchange for information about his service in the police and participation in the SVO. Having received secret data, the bloggers published it on their Telegram channel. Yasin Khalidov was detained in Omsk, and for more than 40 days his whereabouts have been unknown, as well as the reason for his detention. Human rights activists believe that Khalidov is in danger if he is brought to Chechnya.
