Armenian PM expresses desire to sign peace treaty with Azerbaijan as soon as possible

Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan right now, which has been agreed upon by 80 percent. If the document turns out to be contrary to the Constitution of Armenia, Yerevan will need to change it for the sake of peace. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
He also noted that signing the agreed parts of the peace treaty will make it possible to simplify the solution of the remaining issues.
In turn, Turkish President Recep Erdogan positively assessed the meeting with Pashinyan in New York, noting that his approach looks constructive. Erdogan stressed that "like Turkey, Armenia wants to ensure a peace treaty with Azerbaijan as soon as possible so that neighbors can live in peace." The Turkish leader also emphasized that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan will have a positive impact on the normalization of relations between Ankara and Yerevan.
At the UN General Assembly, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan boycotted the meeting of foreign ministers of the pro-Russian CSTO bloc. Earlier, Pashinyan noted that Armenia froze its participation in the CSTO, since the organization poses threats to the country's security and its continued existence.
