The Armenian government will allocate 3.14 billion drams (equivalent to approximately $8.1 million) to support companies that have already shipped their products abroad. The funds will go to exporters of greenhouse vegetables, fresh fruit, and flowers, as well as mineral water, wine, and Armenian brandy.
According to Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, the funds will be used to fulfill obligations under a program adopted in June to diversify export markets. He noted that producers have already made shipments, and the state will now reimburse a portion of their expenses.
The bulk of the sum—over 2.5 billion drams—is earmarked for exporters of fresh fruit, food products, and beverages. Another 605 million drams will be allocated to support shipments of greenhouse produce.
According to the State Revenue Committee, in June alone, Armenia exported nearly 3,000 tons of apricots, over 1,400 tons of sweet cherries, hundreds of tons of vegetables, and 4 million flowers, as well as 1.5 million liters of mineral water, 230,000 liters of wine, and 1.3 million liters of Armenian brandy (in terms of 100% alcohol content).
The exporter support program was launched against the backdrop of restrictions on the import of Armenian products imposed by Russia in May and June 2026. The bans affected shipments of Armenian flowers, fresh vegetables, and fruit, as well as the certification of fish products. Yerevan and European political circles viewed these measures as an attempt to exert economic pressure on the Armenian authorities. The EU expressed support for Yerevan and announced the opening of the European market to specific categories of Armenian goods.
