Today, Azerbaijan celebrates the 34th anniversary of its restoration of state independence. On August 30, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Republic adopted the Declaration on the Restoration of Independence, and on October 18 of the same year, the Constitutional Act enshrining this status was adopted.
Armenia does not intend to unfreeze its participation in the pro-Russian CSTO bloc

Armenia will not unfreeze its membership in the CSTO in 2025. This is stated in the report of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the country.
"Despite the provisions of the founding treaty, the CSTO's inability to respond to the problems of the South Caucasus is unlikely to change in 2025. We consider it unlikely that in 2025 the grounds for freezing Armenia's membership in the CSTO will disappear," the report states.
The claims of the Armenian side are caused by the Organization's reaction to the invasion of Azerbaijan. Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia's participation in the CSTO bloc "dominated by Moscow" was frozen.
Also, Yerevan practically refused to purchase weapons from the Russian Federation and blocked the broadcast of a number of Russian propaganda TV programs.
In July 2024, after 32 years of service, the Russian border guards left the Yerevan Zvartnots airport. In addition, as of January 1, 2025, they will no longer serve at checkpoints on the Armenian-Iranian border.
