A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said that Russia does not provide specific information on the progress of the investigation into the crash of the AZAL plane. The Russian side explains this by the ongoing investigation.
Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan is coordinating its actions with Kazakhstan and expects Russia to promptly report on the progress of the investigation and its results, including bringing those responsible to justice. Otherwise, according to the Prosecutor General, Baku reserves the right to appeal to international courts.
Recall that the plane crash, which occurred on December 25, 2024 near the city of Aktau (Kazakhstan), resulted in the deaths of 38 people out of 67 on board. The reasons for the plane crash have caused a lot of discussion, but the dominant version is that it came under fire from Russian air defense systems during an attack by Ukrainian drones on the territory of Chechnya. Recently, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced his intention to file an international lawsuit against Russia. He stressed that Moscow did not admit guilt and did not punish those responsible for the deaths.
