Ali Karimli, leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, announced he was banned from participating in the Democracy Forum in Prague. He claimed the ban came from President Ilham Aliyev.

According to a statement by Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev, the passage of humanitarian cargo from the Russian Red Cross Society to Stepanakert, in agreement with the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, through Agdam is carried out under a “separate agreement.” Radio Azatutyun reports this.
Yesterday, on his social network account, Gadzhiev wrote:
“In response to numerous requests from international journalists, including Reuters, Politico and the BBC, I would like to clarify the following issues:
Tomorrow, at the initiative of Russia, the food cargo of the Russian Red Cross Society, in agreement with the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, will depart along the Agdam-Askeran route in the direction of Khankendi. This is a separate agreement and should not be confused with the proposal to simultaneously open the Agdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads for the delivery of ICRC supplies. In particular, Azerbaijan, as a gesture of goodwill, agreed to the simultaneous opening of the Agdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads on September 1, but the illegal regime refused. At the same time, at the Lachin checkpoint it is necessary to comply with the customs and border control regime of Azerbaijan.”
In addition, the politician called the presidential elections held on September 9 “counterproductive” and “fabricated.” Let us remind you that yesterday the parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh appointed Samvel Shahramanyan as the new president of the unrecognized republic. A few hours later, Stepanakert announced a decision to allow Russian food cargo to enter the territory of the republic through Agdam.
At the same time, an agreement was reached according to which the transportation of humanitarian goods through the Lachin corridor will be restored by Russian peacekeepers and the International Committee of the Red Cross. This was reported by the Nagorno-Karabakh Information Center. The authorities of the unrecognized republic argued this decision with the need to “mitigate acute humanitarian problems caused by the complete blockade carried out by Azerbaijan.”
