19-year-old Magomed-Salah Ozdamirov is the reigning junior (U20) world champion. He won gold in the under-57 kg category at the World Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria, defeating Indian wrestler Sumit Malik 8–5 in the final. Earlier this year, in May, he also won the Russian Junior Championship in the same weight class. Following his world championship victory, Ozdamirov described the title as the greatest achievement of his career and stated that his ultimate goal is to compete at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
