A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

The Second Western Military Court in Moscow sentenced Dagestan Gazi Isayev, former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kizlyar district, to life imprisonment. He was accused of aiding and abetting acts of terrorism in the Moscow metro. He pleaded not guilty, calling all charges false and falsified.
The court also ordered Isaev to pay more than 17 million rubles in damages in favour of the Moscow Metro as the injured party. The court ruled that Isaev was the victim of the crime. Earlier, the defendant called the criminal prosecution a revenge for his work in office.
According to the investigation, Isaev was a member of the banned terrorist organization «Imarat Caucasus» and provided the criminals with operational information. In addition, in March 2010, he personally drove a suicide bomber to the bus station in Kizlyar, from where she left for Moscow, where she blew up a subway in the capital, killing 39 people. On March 29, 2010 two bombs went off: the first - at the station "Lubyanka", the second - at the "Park of Culture".
