Former Chairman of the Chechen Parliament Magomed Daudov headed the government of the republic

Deputies unanimously supported the appointment of former speaker Magomed Daudov to the post of chairman of the Chechen government. Daudov's candidacy must be approved by the regional parliament, but the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has already congratulated his colleague on his new position.

“Taking into account his [Magomed Daudov – ed.] extensive experience and high professionalism, I am sure that the deputies will fully support the candidacy of Magomed Khozhakhmedovich,” Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel.

Magomed Daudov is a former speaker of the Chechen parliament who recently left his post and one of Kadyrov's closest associates. He has been speaker since 2015. In 2007 he received the title of Hero of Russia. In August 2023, the President of the Russian Federation awarded the speaker of the Chechen parliament the rank of major general of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and in April 2024 - the military rank of general major. He was also awarded the Order of Courage and “For Services to the Fatherland”, IV degree.

As head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daudov replaced Muslim Khuchiev, who became an assistant to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Kadyrov awarded Khuchiev the highest regional title “Hero of the Chechen Republic.”
