Dagestan is among the leaders in the number of deaths in road accidents

In 2023, 348 people died as a result of car accidents in Dagestan. The republic took fifth place in this anti-record, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The first four positions were occupied by the Krasnodar Territory (791 dead), Moscow (658), Rostov regions (509) and Bashkortostan (390).

According to the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, one of the reasons for the worsening situation with road accidents is the shutdown of 76 systems for automatically recording traffic violations. This happened due to a temporary cessation of funding for the system.

In total, in 2023, 1,677 accidents occurred in Dagestan, in which 348 people were killed and 2,450 were injured.
