Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko congratulated Ingushetia on the 256th anniversary of its accession to Russia, noting the "dynamic development" and growth of production in the republic, which she called "one of the main strongholds of our state in the North Caucasus."
Many natives of the North Caucasus are wanted by the international criminal police Interpol at the request of Russia. They are under threat of deportation. Activists of the organization "Dagestan National Center" in Kiev announced the collection of signatures for a petition on the website of the President of Ukraine with a proposal to initiate the exclusion of Russia from Interpol.
The initiators propose to exclude the Russian Federation for persecution of people for political reasons, fabrication of criminal cases against opponents, torture and inhuman treatment in places of deprivation of liberty. On the part of the Russian Federation, requests for deportation are submitted by the Prosecutor General’s Office and in some cases they are executed.
"Dagestan National Center" was created in Ukraine after the start of «special operation». The group consists of natives of Dagestan, living in Ukraine, Europe, Turkey.
