Dagestan athlete asked not to specify Russia as their homeland

22-year-old native of Dagestan Muhammad Mokaev, who plays for the UK in mixed martial arts battles UFC, asked to remove Russia from the count of his birthplace. He made this decision after receiving information about protests against the construction of a mosque in Moscow.

"I have read many comments from Russians who oppose Muslims who want to build a mosque in Moscow. This was enough for me. I can say that the United Kingdom in which I live has never openly opposed mosques," wrote the fighter on Twitter and asked him next time to indicate Dagestan as his homeland.

Earlier, Orthodox activists said that in the east of Moscow in the Kosino-Ukhtomsky district near the Church and Holy Lake are going to build the largest mosque for 60 thousand people. They recorded a video message against construction, calling Muslims «migrants». In response, Duma deputy from Dagestan Hamzayev called the message about migrants «chauvinism from culture», and the head of Chechnya Kadyrov characterized opponents of the mosque as «cowards and provocateurs», offering them to go to Donbass - to defend Russia.
