Yerevan and Baku exchanged lists of goods for potential trade

Armenia and Azerbaijan exchanged lists of goods that could potentially become the subject of bilateral trade. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the final list is "under consideration."

The statement was made on January 8 at a press briefing following the arrival of the second shipment of Azerbaijani fuel in Armenia. Armenian goods are not currently being supplied to Azerbaijan, but negotiations are ongoing.

Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan reported that Yerevan is discussing with Baku the possible export of aluminum foil, ferromolybdenum, raw materials for brandy production, tobacco, textiles, roses and other greenhouse products, and livestock from Armenia to Azerbaijan. According to him, the Azerbaijani side presented a list of goods of interest, and Armenia outlined possible volumes and prices. The start date for exports has not been specified; trade will commence following agreements between the companies.

Against this backdrop, fuel supplies from Azerbaijan continue. In December 2025, Baku shipped over 1,200 tons of SOCAR gasoline to Armenia via Georgia for the first time. The second shipment took place after fuel prices in Azerbaijan had increased. Baku emphasizes that the export is commercial in nature and is carried out at market prices.

The agreement on fuel supplies was reached in November 2025, and Azerbaijan announced the lifting of restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia back in October. Two Armenian companies are currently importing Azerbaijani gasoline, and, according to Pashinyan, the process is "progressing according to plan" and should not be politicized.
