The political party led by former Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has decided to retake parliamentary seats. This was announced at a briefing by one of its leaders, Giorgi Sharashidze, and later by the party's leader.

Members of the European Parliament initiated a draft resolution on sanctions against the billionaire, ex-citizen of the Russian Federation, founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili and its members. The basis for this will be the adoption in Georgia of the bill on foreign agents initiated by them. In addition, the European Parliament called on the European Commission and the European Council to link the continuation of financial assistance to the country from the EU with the decision of the Georgian authorities.
In addition to members of the Georgian Dream, it is proposed to impose sanctions against the head of the special forces department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (special forces) Zviad Kharazishvili and the head of the patrol police Vazha Siradze. On April 17, Kharazishvili was at the site of the protests and gave the order to forcefully disperse peaceful demonstrators, as a result of which four journalists and protesters were beaten.
Protests against the bill on foreign agents in Tbilisi continue for the ninth day. Thousands of people gather near the parliament building, and the police periodically disperse the crowd. Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili regularly opposes the initiative of the ruling party.
