The Georgian Parliament has expeditiously passed a bill in its third and final reading requiring organizers of protests in "places where people gather or where vehicles are moving" (including on sidewalks) to notify the police. The responsible person must contact the Patrol Service Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (located at the location of the demonstration) in writing no later than five days before the rally.
On August 28, police patrolled at the exits from the village of Mutsalaul in the Khasavyurt district of Dagestan. According to local residents, FSB officers went from house to house and checked the information of the villagers. It is reported by "Caucasus. Realities".
"The village is cordoned off. We are not told what it is. Such actions have already taken place several times,” shared an employee of the village administration, whose building the police occupied for two days.
The situation was commented at the police department of the Khasavyurt district, calling the village "restless". The administration building is used to accommodate a large number of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including those who arrived from Makhachkala.
Information about checks in the village of Mutsalaul was confirmed in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Dagestan. According to the agency, the purpose of the planned activities of law enforcement agencies is "to identify illegal trafficking in weapons and drugs, as well as violations of migration registration." The names of those wanted by the authorities are not advertised.
