Secretary General of Georgia's Ruling Party Calls on Opposition to "Protest Together"
Against the backdrop of multi-thousand rallies in Tbilisi, Secretary General of the ruling party Kakha Kaladze made a rather unexpected statement today. He called on the opposition to "stop their own non-existent protests" and "protest together for the sake of a European future." According to him, it is the Georgian Dream that is Georgia's main European force, which "has proven its commitment to the European course in action."

"Let's call on the EU structures to open negotiations together, put a document on the table that we will sign. Let them show us partnership not only in words, but also in deeds, and without blackmail," Kaladze said.

Meanwhile, the "non-existent protests" promise to continue for the fifth night, and this time the security forces began preparing to disperse them well in advance. The water that is being poured on the demonstrators from hoses was turned on at 19:15, when the crowd had just begun to gather, writes Newsgeorgia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in turn, issued a warning about the upcoming dispersal before eight o'clock in the evening. This, however, did not stop the protesters from organizing a rally near the Georgian Parliament. The media reports that the section of Rustaveli Avenue in front of the building is already full and people continue to approach. The scenario of yesterday's confrontation between protesters and security forces with pyrotechnics on one side and water cannons on the other is being repeated.
