Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has warned that Russia’s restrictions on Armenian exports are calling into question the future of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), saying the dispute could mark “the beginning of the end” for the Moscow-led bloc if it is not resolved soon.
Georgia wants to ban the sale of housing to Russians
The Georgian parliament intends to ban the sale of real estate to citizens of the Russian Federation until the end of 2024. The authorities believe that in connection with its acquisition by foreigners, housing prices are rising.
Russia continues to lead in terms of the number of money transfers to Georgia. In April, 159.6 million dollars were transferred, which is 20% more than in the same month last year. Amounts from Russia account for 43.1% of the total volume of monetary transactions.
Over 220,000 Russians visited Georgia from January to March this year. This amounted to over a quarter of all foreigners who came to the country in the first quarter of 2023, according to the Georgian National Statistics Service.
