Georgia and Armenia formalized a strategic partnership

Georgia and Armenia have concluded a strategic partnership agreement. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced this at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan in Tbilisi.

The heads of state discussed models of joint customs control and agreed to take steps to complete border delimitation. According to Pashinyan, Yerevan hopes that after the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, the negotiation process will begin in full to finalize a peace agreement based on well-known principles.

“Armenia and I are historically very strong allies and friends, not just neighbors. We were de facto strategic partners, but today we have already signed an agreement,” Garibashvili said.
