Georgia denies entry to yet another Russian activist

The co-founder of the Emigration for Action project to help Ukrainian refugees, Igor Myglan, was expelled from Georgia. He was not allowed out of the airport for a day, after which he was forced to fly to Turkey.

“More than 8 thousand refugees from Ukraine received medical care thanks to the entire project team. Does this threaten Georgia's interests? I'm sure not. I am sure that such projects, as well as initiatives to support refugees, created by citizens of Georgia and other countries, are something that any country can be proud of,” said Egor Kuroptev, director of the Free Russia Foundation in the South Caucasus.

Earlier, Kuroptev noted that Georgia began to more often deny entry to Russian political activists and human rights defenders, including those living in the country since the beginning of the SVO. According to the head of the Free Russia Foundation, such actions by the Georgian authorities can be regarded not only as a violation of the rights of people persecuted for political reasons, but also as pressure on any people and groups “who do not share the aggressive policy of the Kremlin and are taking any action in this regard.” or actions."
