Georgia's ruling party has initiated amendments to the Law on Assemblies and Manifestations and the Code of Administrative Offenses, the discussion and adoption of which will proceed expeditiously. According to the bill, organizers of events at "places where people move" will be required to notify state authorities in advance.
Georgian opposition reacts to announcement of final election results with new protests
The "Coalition for Change" called on everyone to join a 24-hour protest outside Tbilisi State University. One of the leaders of the coalition, Nika Gvaramia, announced the opposition's decision. The Unity - National Movement party also joined the protest.
At the same time, a "Give Back Your Voice" protest is taking place on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. The rally was announced simultaneously by organizations that monitored the voting in the parliamentary elections, opposition parties, and student movements. At the rally, students from 13 Georgian universities read out a manifesto in which they declared that they do not recognize the elections held on October 26 and the legitimacy of the parliament formed based on their results.
