Berlin has recalled its ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, for consultations. The decision, made by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepoel, is intended to determine how to proceed, the ministry announced.

Mass protests against the results of the parliamentary elections took place in Tbilisi. Leaders of opposition parties refused to recognize the results of the vote, which they consider falsified.
"We declare that these elections are illegitimate, we will not enter this parliament and refuse our parliamentary mandates. We have a very specific demand - to call new parliamentary elections, which will be held by an international election administration," said one of the leaders of the opposition party "United National Movement" Giorgi Vashadze at the protest.
President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, in turn, also stated that the results of the vote were falsified. According to her, they tried to "steal the future" from Georgia, but no one has the right to do this. She said that she had six telephone conversations with presidents and ministers of foreign countries, emphasizing that the interlocutors also did not recognize the results.
The ruling Georgian Dream party won 53.9% of the votes. All four opposition forces that entered parliament, as well as NGOs supporting them and the country's president, refused to recognize these results.
