Georgian drivers complain about deportations from Russia

Russia has begun mass deportations of foreign truck drivers, including Georgians. According to Business Media, the checks and deportations initially affected citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, but then expanded to include Armenians and Georgians.

To date, more than 100 Georgian drivers have been deported from Russia and banned from entering. Due to changes in Russian immigration legislation, which limit the stay of foreigners from 180 to 90 days, Georgian drivers are practically unable to work in Russia.

The Association of Georgian Freight Forwarders has appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate the situation.
