Khamzat Chimaev Wins UFC Middleweight Championship

UAE fighter of Chechen descent Khamzat Chimaev has become the new UFC middleweight champion. In the main fight of the tournament in Chicago, he defeated South African Dreekus du Plessis, winning by unanimous decision.

The fight lasted all five rounds, and for most of the time – almost 22 minutes out of 25 – Chimaev completely controlled his opponent, not allowing him to develop an attack. Such dominance dispelled all doubts among the referees about who deserved the victory.

This triumph was the 15th in the professional career of the 30-year-old athlete. He remains undefeated in mixed martial arts and continues to strengthen his reputation as one of the strongest fighters in the middleweight division.
