IHA: Kadyrov nearly drowned in Turkish sea

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, found himself on the brink of tragedy while on holiday in Turkey: he nearly drowned in the sea off the coast of Bodrum, in the Turkish province of Mugla.

The incident occurred near one of the hotels in the Kaynar district, where Kadyrov was staying at a five-star hotel, the Turkish news agency IHA reports.

According to eyewitnesses, the politician was in the water when he suddenly began to choke. The hotel staff immediately responded and called an ambulance. Medics quickly arrived at the scene, provided first aid and took Kadyrov to a private clinic.

According to information from the hospital, Kadyrov is in a stable condition. He was left under observation, but there is no threat to his life. Sources say the patient feels well.

The health of the head of Chechnya remains the main topic in the Russian media, but any reports of his poor health are always denied by both his adviser, the Minister of National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information Akhmed Dudayev, and himself.

Over the past week, Ramzan Kadyrov has appeared in public twice, apparently with the aim of dispelling rumors of serious health problems. On the evening of July 19, he walked around the center of Grozny, took pictures with passers-by and rode a children's electric car stylized as a tank with a child. On July 21, the head of Chechnya also personally attended the Benoevsky Spring - 2025 festival in the Nozhai-Yurtovsky District of Chechnya and even danced the lezginka.

At the same time, as the Agency publication notes, "Kadyrov practically does not speak and, judging by the expression on his face, he is not always emotionally involved in what is happening around him."
