Armenian Deputy Economy Minister Arman Khojoyan denied reports that a shipment of Armenian apricots spoiled during transportation to Spain. According to him, such shipments have never even begun.

The comment was prompted by a publication in Armatmedia, which claimed that a large shipment of apricots sent to Spain spoiled en route and was unfit for sale. Khojoyan called this information unreliable.

"The entire internet is saying that apricots exported to Spain spoiled en route. Apricots from Armenia have not yet been exported to Spain," the deputy minister wrote on his Facebook page.

The topic of Armenian fruit exports to Europe has been actively discussed since Russia restricted the import of stone fruits and grapes from Armenia on June 2. Against this backdrop, Armenian authorities have announced their intention to diversify exports and expand supplies to the European market.

Some Armenian products have already begun shipping to EU countries. Furthermore, the EU has announced plans to temporarily waive import duties on approximately 80% of goods from Armenia as a support measure following the restrictions imposed by Russia.
