Cryptocurrency mining will be banned in the North Caucasus due to a shortage of electricity
From December 1, previously legalized cryptocurrency mining will be banned in some regions of Russia. This list includes all regions of the SCFD, except for Stavropol: Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia, Ingushetia, Chechnya and Dagestan.

Similar measures have been taken in relation to the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as the DPR and the LPR. The Irkutsk region and Transbaikalia also fell under restrictions, but only for the winter.

The Ministry of Energy believes that cryptomining aggravates the energy deficit, especially in regions with limited resources. According to the department, the ban may force miners to go to regions with excess capacity, which will reduce the load on the energy infrastructure of the North Caucasus.
