Elena Milashina, beaten in Chechnya, almost lost consciousness in the hospital

In the North Caucasian multidisciplinary medical center in Beslan, journalist Elena Milashina became ill. At first she herself walked along the corridor of the institution, but then she almost lost consciousness, and she was picked up.

“I talked with Milashina and Nemov. The woman is undergoing an examination, an MRI, she has numerous fractures. Nemov has a stab wound and also many fractures. Probably, they will be delivered to Moscow by the Ministry of Emergency Situations,” said Tamerlan Tsogoev, Ombudsman for North Ossetia.

Earlier it became known that Elena Milashina had head injuries, broken fingers on both hands and other injuries. In the morning, journalist and lawyer Alexander Nemov were severely beaten by unknown assailants on their way from Grozny airport. Both were threatened with murder for their professional activities. Both were on their way to the trial of Zarema Musaeva, who today was sentenced to five and a half years in prison.
