Kadyrov may receive Wildberries in exchange for mediation in Syria
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, made a nearly week-long trip to Moscow, where he held a number of meetings, including with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, there is no official confirmation of this meeting, writes Novaya Gazeta Evropa.

Putin discussed with Kadyrov the possibility of expanding the Chechen leader’s formal and informal Middle Eastern contacts in order to make him a mediator between the Kremlin and the new Syrian authorities represented by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. It is noted that in exchange, Kadyrov achieved a resolution to the conflict around the largest marketplace Wildberries in his favor.

“Now Moscow urgently needs to resolve the issue with Syrian military bases, and if Kadyrov succeeds, then no Wildberries will be a pity for it,” the source emphasizes.

The head of Chechnya was also allegedly promised to consider receiving a share in the gold mining business of Dagestan senator Suleiman Kerimov.

Over the past week, Kadyrov has made loud statements about the events in Syria. In particular, he proposed launching a procedure to remove Hayat Tahrir al-Sham from the Russian list of terrorist organizations and to involve Chechen security forces in patrolling the streets of Syria.
