Kadyrov denied rumors about his illness through sports training

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, published photos and videos from sports training. Thus, he denied speculation about his illness and possible resignation from his post. In the video, Kadyrov says nothing and “sways” to a song about an “eagle-born Chechen.”

“The busy day ended with training and positivity. Physical activity improves not only the body, but also the mood. Evening classes are a great way to relax and recharge your batteries. Remember, taking care of your health is an investment in the future, and consistency and perseverance will lead you to success, both in sports and in life,” Kadyrov signed his video.

The day before, Novaya Gazeta Europe published an article about Kadyrov’s health condition, which stated that he could no longer hold his post for health reasons. Among the diagnoses, the head of Chechnya indicated complications of pancreatitis, which include pancreatic necrosis and pancreatogenic ascites. In addition, in 2023, Kadyrov was allegedly put into a medically induced coma due to an overdose of the tranquilizer Dormikum, which he could take due to severe pain and insomnia.

A publication source close to State Duma deputy from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov said that Kadyrov’s relatives reacted to the results of the examination as follows: “The former leader will no longer exist, the disease will seriously affect him. Even if he recovers now, he will be neither alive nor dead...”

The publication also named the likely successor of Ramzan Kadyrov - Chechen special forces commander Apti Alaudinov. He was recently appointed deputy head of the main directorate for military-political work of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
