A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

“Putin is very respectful of the Muslims of our great, great and friendly country,” the head of Chechnya began his report on the meeting with the Russian president in the Kremlin the day before, with these words, which was accompanied by a joint photo.
According to Kadyrov, “Separately, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief asked for congratulations to the soldiers serving in the NMD. He wished the brave guys success, good luck and speedy completion of their tasks.” The head of Chechnya said that he “reported on the socio-economic situation in the Chechen Republic”, and also that at the meeting they “discussed long-term plans and achievements of the region”.
Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed to RIA Novosti that the meeting was in the Kremlin. Kadyrov noted that Putin asked him to congratulate Muslims "on the advent of the Eid al-Adha holiday, to convey the wishes of happiness, kindness, peace and prosperity."
The President of Russia himself personally arrived in Derbent today, where he held a meeting on tourism issues in the North Caucasus Federal District.
First, he visited the Derbent mosque, which is considered one of the oldest in the world, and once again congratulated the Muslims.
Some local experts believe that these gestures of attention to the Muslim North Caucasus by the Russian president are connected with the war in Ukraine and the need to constantly replenish the ranks of the Russian army. At the same time, in Russia as a whole, Muslims continue to be treated negatively, not as fellow citizens. A vivid illustration of this fact was the recent situation around the decision to allocate a plot of land in Moscow for the construction of a mosque, when the residents of the capital held mass protests. As a result, the Moscow authorities changed their plans and announced their intention to allocate land elsewhere.
