The nationalist organization "Russian Community" stated that the "derussification of Russian toponymy" in Russia is a direct path to separatism and the disintegration of the country. The organization noted that Chechnya plans to rename villages in "originally Russian Cossack regions" that were transferred to Chechnya by the Bolsheviks as a result of the policy of "de-Cossackization and de-Russification of the North Caucasus." The statement emphasized that "these villages have never historically been part of Chechnya" and that "Russians, not Vainakhs, have always lived there."

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, whose legitimacy is not recognized by the opposition and a significant portion of the public, shared the results of his visit to New York. Speaking about the official reception in honor of the participants of the UN General Assembly session, he noted that he was "warmly received" by US President Donald Trump.
According to Kavelashvili, during the meeting he told Trump that it was time for their relationship to "start with a clean slate."
"I told him it was time to start our relationship with a clean slate, and he repeated that he would look into this matter. I reiterated that it was necessary and timely to begin our relationship, and he promised to definitely revisit this issue and contact me. Let's wait for his response. We had several more meetings with the administration and the Minister of Trade," the sixth Georgian president said.
Yesterday, September 25, Mikheil Kavelashvili addressed the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. He emphasized that Tbilisi is open to dialogue with all parties on issues of global and regional significance, taking into account national interests.
"The current reality requires us to face complex issues head-on and engage in an open, pragmatic, and results-oriented dialogue. I believe this is the only way we can overcome common global challenges and open up new opportunities for the benefit of our countries, peoples, and future generations," he said.
In his speech, Kavelashvili addressed the war in Ukraine and expressed "firm and unwavering support for the Ukrainian people." The Tbilisi official welcomed Donald Trump's efforts to bring the war to a swift end, as well as his peace initiative for Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"Georgia has always supported and actively worked to establish sustainable and long-term peace in the South Caucasus region, as well as to deepen trust and cooperation between neighbors. For centuries, our country has been a crossroads of civilizations and a space for dialogue between different cultures. Today, Georgia is reclaiming this historical role," Kavelashvili stated.
Furthermore, the Georgian President met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres. According to Kavelashvili's press service, the meeting focused on issues of peace and sustainable development in the region, in which Georgia's role was noted.
"During the meeting, Mr. Guterres noted that Georgia has withstood very strong pressure. He thanked us for the country choosing the right path – the path of peace, stability, and development. Everyone sees this, everyone notes it, and it is very gratifying to receive such praise," Kavelashvili boasted.
