Kobakhidze thanked five EU countries for protesting sanctions, one of which denied the information

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze thanked five countries "that expressed their support for the Georgian people" at a meeting of the EU Council. According to the head of the Cabinet, these are Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Spain and Romania.
Kobakhidze added that, according to the government, in addition to these countries, representatives of other countries have already spoken out against the sanctions at briefings or in interviews.
"Accordingly, we have specific information about five countries, but we must think that the list of countries that have spoken out against the sanctions is even wider, which is very important for us. We will continue consultations with all countries that support the Georgian people," the Prime Minister concluded.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry responded to Kobakhidze's statement.
"Deeply disappointed by the inaccurate presentation of internal discussions at the EU level," the diplomatic department wrote on its profile on the X social network.
In addition, the Romanian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that it is concerned about "the Georgian government's decision on a dialogue on EU accession and the brutal suppression of legitimate protests in Georgia."
It should be noted that Radio Tbilisi reports, citing its correspondent in Brussels, that only two countries have spoken out against the introduction of targeted sanctions against the Georgian authorities - Hungary and Slovakia.
