Berlin has recalled its ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, for consultations. The decision, made by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadepoel, is intended to determine how to proceed, the ministry announced.

The Georgian authorities have received signals from Western partners that relations with the republic will be rebooted after the parliamentary elections. This was announced by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
"We have received very good signals. We have incredible signals that indicate that relations will be rebooted very soon, earlier than we predicted. I mean signals from our strategic partners, communication with our strategic partners," Kobakhidze said.
Parliamentary elections are being held in Georgia today. One of the first to vote was the country's President Salome Zurabishvili. She called on her compatriots to go and vote.
"Let no one stay at home, it is up to you to decide what tomorrow's Georgia will be like!" Zurabishvili addressed the people.
150 deputies will be elected in the current elections. To get into parliament, parties need to overcome the electoral threshold of 5%. Currently, the majority in the country's parliament belongs to the Georgian Dream, which many call pro-Russian.
