Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze posed for a photo with several politicians, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a forum in Turkmenistan dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust. The Georgian opposition interpreted the presence of representatives of the ruling Georgian Dream party at the event alongside Putin as a decision to reconsider the country's foreign policy.
The Military Court of Appeal in Vlasikha, Moscow Region, upheld the verdict against Crimean Tatars Oleg (Ali) Fedorov and Ernest Ibragimov. A year ago, the Southern District Military Court sentenced them to 13 years in prison.
The defenders provided evidence that Ibragimov and Fedorov are innocent, and all the examinations of the investigation were actually fabricated. According to investigators, the defendants met at secret meetings where they discussed forbidden literature.
Recall that Ibragimov and Fedorov were recognized as members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir political party, which in 2003 the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized as “terrorist”. On the territory of Ukraine and most European countries, the organization operates without restrictions.
