A court in Kazakhstan has extended the extradition detention of Chechnya native Mansur Movlaev until January 13, 2027. Human rights activist Maxim Rudnev reported the news, noting that the hearing took place without the participation of Movlaev himself or his lawyers.
Kabardino-Balkaria has taken first place among the regions of the North Caucasus in terms of meat production. In the first five months of 2026, the republic produced 46,900 tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight—a 1.2% increase compared to the previous year.
The republic also showed growth in other agricultural sectors. Specifically, Kabardino-Balkaria took second place in the North Caucasus Federal District in terms of milk production growth: from January to May, volumes increased by 2.9% compared to the same period last year.
Egg production also continued to grow. Over the first five months, the figure increased by 2.3%, placing the region third among the subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District.
Kabardino-Balkaria remains one of the largest agricultural regions in the North Caucasus. Local producers export their products far beyond the district's borders. For example, apples from the republic are shipped to more than 50 regions of Russia, from the central part of the country to the Far East.
