For seven days now, tens of thousands of volunteers from across the North Caucasus have been searching for little hero Khizir Derbichev, who was swept away by the powerful current of the Sunzha River near the village of Yandare in the Nazran District of Ingushetia. Despite fatigue, icy water, and challenging conditions, the men are carefully surveying the underwater area and the shoreline, searching under rocks, trees, and slabs.
Moscow has once again reminded Armenia of its obligations to the CSTO
Russia knows nothing about Armenia's appeal to the CSTO with a request to leave the organization. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Zakharova.
“However, from time to time, some statements are heard from Yerevan, as if they already see themselves as being outside some framework, have left somewhere, and so on. Whether Armenia intends to resume financing the CSTO, as prescribed in its charter, needs to be clarified with Yerevan itself,” Zakharova emphasized.
As before, she reminded that no forms of abstinence from financing are envisaged and contributions not transferred in the current year constitute a debt.
Recently, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that his country “considers itself outside the CSTO.” According to him, returning to the organization is no longer possible, the point of no return has been crossed.
In February, Pashinyan announced the freezing of Armenia's participation in the CSTO "due to the failure to implement the collective security treaty" with respect to the country. On May 8, the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced that Yerevan would not participate in the approval of the CSTO's annual budget and the financing of the organization. Later, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that, despite this refusal, Armenia retains financial obligations in accordance with the organization's Charter.
