The Muftiate of Dagestan has called on the republic's residents to treat information reports with caution and to avoid participating in the dissemination of provocative materials.

Clergy representatives noted that "Dagestan has always been a land where people of diverse ethnicities and faiths have lived and built together."

"Our multi-ethnic and multi-confessional unity is an integral part of Dagestan’s historical fabric and its spiritual and cultural heritage," the Muftiate emphasized.

The authors of the statement warn that certain materials being circulated may be deliberately used to escalate the situation.

"Reports and posts appear periodically in the information space with the aim of sowing distrust among people, stoking tension, and pitting ethnic groups and religious communities against one another. Such materials must be approached with great caution," the Muftiate stated.

The statement specifically mentions pro-Ukrainian outlets, noting that they "often attempt to exploit any news story to stoke tension." Residents were urged not to let such publications affect relations between the republic's ethnic groups.

The text also calls on the public not to provide "the slightest pretext for destabilizing the situation in the region" and to ensure that information-based provocations do not disrupt peace and harmony within society. Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that "it is equally important not to become participants in the dissemination of such information ourselves."

The Muftiate described maintaining peace and harmony in the republic as "a shared responsibility for each of us" and stressed that emerging news stories must not become a source of hostility, suspicion, or division among people.
