The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has published a report alleging that Georgian authorities used chemical weapons during the suppression of pro-European protests in Tbilisi in 2024. The chemical weapon in question is bromobenzyl cyanide, a chemical warfare agent dating back to World War I, also known as "kamit."
Income of citizens in North Caucasus fell
In 2022, real income of the population, adjusted for inflation, fell by 6.4 per cent from the regions of the Ingushetia Federal District. In KSR - 5.4%, in Stavropol 3%, in Chechnya - 0.5%.
In general, in the North Caucasus Federal District, real cash incomes decreased by 2% compared to 2021. This was reported by Rosstat.
The republics of the North Caucasus traditionally close the ratings on the quality of life. Criteria include income, employment, housing, security of tenure. Other indicators influencing the position of the region include demography and health, education, infrastructure development, small business and transport.
