Nadezhda Kevorkova added to the list of terrorists and extremists

Rosfinmonitoring added journalist Nadezhda Kevorkova to the list of terrorists and extremists. Her bank accounts are blocked. This happened before the verdict was pronounced by the Basmanny Court.

Nadezhda Kevorkova was placed in pre-trial detention center No. 6 in Moscow. She did not admit her guilt. On May 7, the journalist was arrested for two months on charges of justifying terrorism. The reason for initiating a criminal case was two posts posted on Kevorkova’s Telegram channel. One of them, published in 2021, talks about the activities of the Islamic Taliban movement, the second is a repost of the text of journalist Orhan Dzhemal about the attack on Nalchik.

The defense noted that Nadezhda Kevorkova is an active volunteer of the Solidarity Foundation, helping seriously ill children and low-income people. The journalist repeatedly visited the Gaza Strip with the support of the Russian Foreign Ministry and covered the situation in the Middle East, worked in Iraq and Iran. Kevorkova is the author of three books about Palestine and numerous articles on religious topics.
