Azerbaijan has sent nearly 40 tons of equipment for critical infrastructure facilities to Ukraine. The shipment is intended for the railway system, which—like the country's energy grid—continues to operate while under attack by the Russian army.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced the new delivery.
The Chechen movement NIYSO reported the death of 37-year-old Shovda Shamaeva, a preschool teacher, after being detained by security forces in Chechnya. The organization claims that the resident of the city of Sernovodskoye was tortured.
According to NIYSO, the detention occurred on September 5, and on September 8, Shamaeva's body was handed over to relatives. The movement reports that the family was asked to hide the true cause of death, while versions of a drug overdose, illness, or conflict in the family began to spread among those around them. The source does not know the reasons for the detention and the alleged torture.
NIYSO previously reported a new wave of kidnappings in Chechnya for sending to Ukraine. It is claimed that more than 100 people have been kidnapped since the end of August. Local authorities have not commented on these statements.
