Activist convicted of supporting Shamil Basayev went on hunger strike in KBR colony

Daria Polyudova, a Kuban activist of the Left Resistance, sentenced to nine years, went on a hunger strike in colony No. 4 in Kabardino-Balkaria. The reason for the action was a thrown blade - this is a prohibited item, the presence of which is fraught with tightening of conditions of detention. The mother of the prisoner, Tatyana Polyudova, told the Kavkaz.Realii editorial staff about this after a telephone conversation with her daughter.

In 2022, Darya Polyudova was sentenced to 9 years in prison on charges of inciting extremism and creating an extremist community. The verdict also included a previous punishment - in 2021, the court found her guilty of publicly justifying terrorism because of a post about Chechen warlords Shamil Basayev and Aslan Maskhadov. She was also found guilty of speaking positively about the actions of Yevgeny Manyurov, who in December 2019 opened fire near the FSB buildings on Lubyanka.
