Convicted Georgian opposition leader presents 8-point plan to defeat ruling party

The leader of the opposition party Strategy Agmashenebeli, who is serving time for refusing to cooperate with the parliamentary investigative commission, presented a plan to defeat Georgian Dream. According to Giorgi Vashadze, the proposals will be submitted to all relevant parties for consideration. He emphasizes that in order to defeat Ivanishvili, it is necessary to unite.

According to Vashadze's plan:

1. It is necessary to unite the entire pro-European flank of the opposition into a single brand consisting of 3 components: parties, public groups and Salome Zurabishvili.

2. It is necessary to agree on the rules for decision-making by consensus and, if necessary, create a Council of Parity Representation, where decisions will be made by the majority.

3. Only unity can bring the first victory.

4. A nationwide campaign should be resumed in all directions, registering 300,000 to 500,000 people in a special application for decision-making and quick notification of them.

5. The proposed system will consolidate a million Georgian citizens who will come out to protest on October 4, the day of local elections.

6. The main demand to the government (interim or other) should be to hold new parliamentary elections.

7. If no general agreement is reached, a boycott of the entire public sector should be adopted, including refusal to pay taxes.

8. It is necessary to force the Georgian Dream to call elections and conduct an election campaign under a common brand.

“I am not saying that this is the only right path. I am offering this plan to the public - we need to show people the final line. That is, when the final attack should lead to victory,” the oppositionist writes from prison.
