A convicted native of Chechnya reported massive violations in the Udmurtia colony

In Udmurtia correctional colony 5, the security forces drive prisoners to suicide and torture them. Timur Tangiyev, a native of Chechnya, said this. He himself had previously reported that he had signed a confession and had been convicted following beatings.

According to Tangiyev, UFCIN officers are also trying to organize a murder and fabricate a case against him. Those who write complaints against the colony administration are beaten and tortured. Convicted persons are also forced to testify under the guise of secret witnesses in other persons' cases.

In 2004, Timur Tangiyev was sentenced to 21 years on charges of killing a resident of Grozny and two policemen, as well as banditry and robbery. Some witnesses stated that he was in a different location at the time of the crimes. Tangiyev reported that he only signed his confession after having been subjected to electric shocks.
